If you’re like me then you don’t have much patience when it comes t0 God answering your prayers.

I don’t want my prayers answered tomorrow, I want them answered today!

But guess what… it doesn’t work that way.  God does everything on HIS time according to his will, not ours.  Maybe we think we know best, but we don’t.  Our Father in Heaven knows best.

Take a look at this passage in Daniel 10:

“Then he continued, ‘Do not be afraid, Daniel.  Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.  But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days.  Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the King of Persia.'” -Daniel 10:12-13

Notice how the angel was coming to answer Daniel’s prayer, but was held up for 21 days by the ‘prince of the Persian kingdom.’  And then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help him.

Who knows what the angels are going through to answer our prayers.  That’s why we need to trust in God and know that he has heard our prayers.

What I love about Daniel 10:12-13 is that it shows God is working on our prayers.  It’s just that we don’t see the battles that are happening in the spiritual world over our prayers.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” -Ephesians 6:18

Also, look at Genesis 29 & 30.  Rachel wanted a child but she remained childless for some time.

The when see in chapter 30, verse 22:  “Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.  She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, ‘God has taken away my disgrace.'”

God remembered Rachel.  Not saying that he forgot, but he answered her prayers.  He is just doing it on HIS time according to His will.

I’ve had prayers that took quite some time to answer.  Some I’m still waiting for.  Sure, I want them answered today, but I understand that God will answer them on His time.

So, don’t be discouraged if you feel your prayers aren’t being answered.  They could be answered instantly or could take many years.

Be patient and know there’s an unseen battle going on over your prayers.

Keep spreading the Word!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” -Philippians 4:6
