I read a devotional yesterday, and the author was talking about how we need to keep God’s word in our minds.

He gave some worldly examples… What’s easier to do in the morning, make your bed or leave it unmade?  Wash and wax your car or leave it dirty?

It’s easier to skip God’s Word than read and apply His Word.

What would happen if you left your car outside in a field somewhere?  It would start to rust away.

Same goes with your mind.  If you forget to maintain your mind with Christ, your life will start to show signs of disorder.

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” -Psalm 119:11

One thing you can do today is start reading your Bible more.  Find time throughout the day and just open it up and start reading.  Maybe you don’t have 30 minutes at a time.  That’s ok.  Even if you can spare 1 minute just to read a few passages, you just might start seeing changes in your life.  🙂

You’re always filling your mind with something.  It’s just… what are you going to fill it with?

I can tell you I choose to fill my mind with God’s Word!  It may get tough at times, but God is with us.

Keep spreading the Word!

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” -Romans 12:2
