Five days a week I go jogging at our local Metroparks. While jogging I feel pain in my legs, but I keep on going. My mind is telling me to stop, but I keep on going.
It’s easy to give up and quit when you’re experiencing trouble and pain.
So, how do I keep on jogging without stopping? I fix my mind on what is unseen… the finish line. I fix my mind on the rewards that come from jogging (strong heart, healthy body, etc.). You can’t see these rewards at the start, but they come at the finish line.
“Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” -2 Corinthians 4:16-18
The same can be said with any troubles and pains you’re currently experiencing in life. They’re for your own good, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
Don’t give up hope. The pain you’re experiencing now is only temporary. There is an ETERNAL GLORY that far outweighs all your troubles.
Renew your strength by serving Christ.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
